BMW 3 Series – Ultimate In-Depth Review

The BMW 3 Series is a mighty, genre-defining performance car. Motorsports magazine called the ‘G20’ gen iteration the “second most important performance car built in the previous 25 years.” It’s also a hugely successful saloon – and despite SUV mania, that remains its core offering.

The new ‘G20’ has spruced up the exterior and given the interior a major upgrade. The big design change is the “Curved Display,” which combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment screen under one giant pane of glass.

It’s a big, beautiful design with bold graphics that look great in the sun, and it’s powered by a new version of the iDrive infotainment system that offers a fantastic voice assistant and lots of intelligent features. The whole package is well-designed and logically laid out, which means you’ll have no trouble getting the most out of it.

In the right hands, it’s a very exciting car to drive. Stick it in Sport mode and you’ll be rewarded with super-sharp steering that makes you feel like you’re driving a proper sports sedan.

Inside it’s a big, comfortable, well-built package that feels modern and upmarket. There’s plenty of soft, supple Dakota leather and wood dashboard trim.

Boot space is generous, too – 480 litres in the saloon and 495 litres in the Touring estate. That’s pretty impressive for a mid-sized luxury saloon, and with the seats up there’s enough room for two large suitcases and a set of golf clubs.
